So it Goes

He sees it now, she brings into him
For the time, so convincingly he finds
Himself just as he was at seventeen.

With something there, as its always been
Another form, this time blocked by what’s in between
Where he is and what she needs.

And so it goes, and so it goes,
The story stays for now untold
With one part passion and two parts absent so it goes.

And well he knows, that she shows
No sign of losing her control
And though he fights it the moments iced and so it goes.

Chancing a smile, he catches her eyes
In them he sees, that she feels the same as he
But locked down in control she says goodnight.

He doesn’t know, why she’s consumed him so
And for the time, he’ll have to let her go and find
The reason she came back into his life.
